Usimamane and Rick Ross Bask In Luxurious Cape Town Link Up for their Visuals of “Dangerous II”

Gliding on the heights of fame from the success of his debut album 20th: Days Before Maud as well as the warm public reception accorded to the two music videos for his singles “Cheque” and the Sjava-assisted “Uvalo”, Durban rapper and singer-songwriter Usimamane secured his spot as one of the country’s hottest rookies upon embellishing his discography with a Rick Ross feature this early in his career. Appearing on the deluxe edition of his maiden LP, “Dangerous II” has been, after much teasing, given a new lease of life with crisp, luxury rap visuals under Kyle White’s direction.

With both rappers being appreciably far from the familiarity of home for their musical rendezvous, the music video for “Dangerous II” depicts a painterly series of some of Cape Town’s most spellbinding tourist attractions. Dovetailing with the lyrics of Usimamane’s first verse, the video begins with the Mzansi rapper cruising in a red Ferrari along the serpentine road flanked by the endless stretch of the ocean on the left and the craggy Lion’s Peak-crowned mountain range on the right, which alternates between monolithic terrains and rockfaces budded with virgin-white properties.

The Maybach Music Group figurehead makes his guest appearance the same way Usimamane begins the music video: by riding around the snaking roads of Cape Town, exploring a different area while spinning plumes of cigar smoke from his mouth and slowly making his way to the hotel.

From the glacier-coloured walls of the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa and the golf course-like precision seen in the manicuring of the lawn, to the majestic sights of the gradation between shades of blue which mark the beginning of the sky and the end of the sea, separating the two, the music video for “Dangerous II” is an ocular treat. While Usimamane and the Boss remain the stars of the show in their black-coded outfits and branded wear, as seen with Rozay’s coffee-hued LV attire in one of the scenes, the scenic views are an eye candy that regales the sight enough for one’s jaw to become unhinged with wonder and the awe of experiencing the soothing balance between natural beauty and masterly architecture.
