Drake has shown time and time again that consistency and saturation are at the heart of his strategy in rolling out new music. Breaks are few and far between, and to him, quantity is king. It is no surprise then that months after his triple-album release—Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour—the Canadian superstar, after brief teasing, dropped “Fear of Missing Out” on the 15th of September 2026, a short film that is an orderly mash-up of music taken from Habibti and Maid of Honour, with a few new songs wedged into the mix.
Compared to Iceman, Drake’s other two releases weren’t graced with visual pairings. “Fear of Missing Out” is an ambitious project that seeks to correct that. The short film, initially released on YouTube, Spotify and Apple before being pulled, is a summery fiesta that focuses all creativity on hedonistic fun and debauchery. On one hand, the short film is packed with beach vignettes and bikini-clad belles twerking and other parts see Drake either doing his own rendition of viral TikTok dances or flexing his solipsism through his enviable jewellery collection.

From “H*o Phase” and “Cheetah Print” to “Outside Tweaking”, the hour-long short film is a fast-paced spectacle geared to towards maximising the potential of the other two releases while regaling his audience with something to dance to, to drink and to start a party with.
Featuring a medley of guests, including album features Sexyy Red and Stunna Sandy and Sandi Graham, among others, the film, “Fear of Missing Out”, carries a familiar and friendly mood. With unorthodox camera shots and found-footage style execution, the short film feels like a keyhole look into Drake’s life and his chosen inner circle and family, as well as his escapades. Grainy and with a touch of improvisation, the short film plays out like a mini documentary. But of course, there isn’t any sort of formality to it. This is the type of thing one would store on a tape and play back years later to remind oneself of a time when fun was had, and life was relatively easier.

The most interesting portions of the mini film come from new, never-heard-before snippets of Champagne Papi’s music featuring Don Toliver and Yeat. The songs, however, are needles lost in the haystack of songs that would’ve bundled together to live on their own, and the new music feels like easter eggs meant to draw in new listeners.
“Fear of Missing Out” is Drake’s ocular signal that he is back outside, but the rehashing of old songs leaves room for the question of whether or not this is something worth coming out for to enjoy.
